St. Mary's Catholic Church is located in the southwestern Iowa town of Avoca.  Six miles east of Avoca is the town of Walnut, Iowa.  Located there is our mission church - St. Patrick's Catholic Church.  Both churches are part of the Diocese of Des Moines.  These two churches are under the pastoral guidance of Rev. Tom Dooley.

We feel this is a timely way to get our message and information out to current and prospective members.  This website allows us to reach people we may never have been able to reach before.  Please use this site frequently to access the information about our two churches and the things going on at them.  Please see the calendar for mass times and locations.

January 28th
“FAITH IN OUR FLOCK” Annual Auction & Dinner at St. Patrick’s, Neola beginning with Mass at 4:00pm. Dinner will be served from 4:30-7:30pm and a Live Auction begins at 6:00pm. Staley’s Chicken Dinner will be served.

January 31st
AVOCA COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE will be held at the American Legion Hall from 11:30am-5:30pm. Please contact Dawn @ 343-2164 or Sharon @ 343-2438 to schedule an appointment.

February 1st
Religious Education grades 6-12 will be attending the Creighton Basketball Game.
