St. Mary's Parish Council will meet at 7:00pm.
November 20th, 2008
Knights of Columbus will meet at 7:00pm at St Marys.
ANNUAL FOOD PANTRY DRIVE: The drive for the local Food Pantry in Avoca will begin this
weekend and continue through the weekend before Christmas. Besides the usual canned
goods items there is a need for peanut butter, toiletry items, and paper products.
There will be a basket in front of church for the items you would like to donate.
Special Note, Walnut Communications is going to match all donations that
are donated to our Local Food Pantries.
AVOCA’S ANGEL TREE will give you an opportunity to help some of the less fortunate in our
community. The tree will be located in the Avoca Library ready for the Christmas Walk on
Dec. 6th. Angel cutout ornaments will contain gender, age, and need of people in our
community. Names will not be listed and the opportunity to be an angel will be anonymous.
Anytime the Library is open you can select an ornament, shop for the items, and take unwrapped
to Walnut Communications during business hours by Dec. 15th for delivery to families before
Christmas. This will help make someone’s Christmas special this year.
