KC Donation Request Form (pdf)

Background
By answering the call to increase the number of councils and members by the year 2000, the Knights of Columbus became a reality in our parishes when they organized in January 1998. Forty-seven men from St. Mary and St. Patrick's parishes joined together forming the Fr. Phillip Lawler Council No. 12133 in memory of Fr. Lawler who passed away December 16, 1995.

Yearend Review
Over this past year, the KC's have been involved in many activities. They started off in January with the KC basketball free throw contest for kids. They had their annual KC steak fry to collect dues from members and to get new men interested in the Knights.
In February they held a first, second and third degree meeting to get new members in the organization.
In March they had their annual fish fry, which seemed to be enjoyed by everyone.
In April they encouraged high school senior students to apply for their scholarships. Three scholarships were awarded in May. In May they also held their Mothers Day and graduating seniors' breakfast. They also donated prizes to the After-Prom parties. The KC State Convention was held in Cedar Rapids.
In June they had their annual highway cleanup day. They also sponsored a fun day at Rosenbladt Stadium for the youth in our parishes.
In July the Knights held an outdoor Mass at the Hancock Park and served a potluck dinner afterwards.
In August they held their annual golf tournament which continues to grow each year.
In September they had their annual Tootsie Roll drive.
The second weekend in October the Knights observed Birth Right by giving out Life Savers after the Masses. KC members made a Living Rosary.
During the months of November and December the Knights will be selling religious Christmas cards. They will also help to deliver Good Guys food baskets in December.
The Council has been awarded the Star Council again this year for their achievements. They encourage any men who are not Knights to get involved in this organization. It is very rewarding and also a lot of fun working along with other Christian men.
